The Gäuboden area is also called the breadbasket of Lower Bavaria. Lower Bavarian products are often imitated around the world. In Lower Bavaria you will find something that has become rare in today’s agriculture. Take a trip into the world of rye and wheat, barley, oat, potatoes, pumpkins and sugar beet in Germany’s premiere growing region. Enjoy the typical fragrance, in the golden, yellow colored rows which are aspiring to the sky - while standing in the field.

Cereals, Soil and Tractors
Visit the adventure farm of the Schreyer family and encounter old local history and the latest harvesting technology. Get to know the cereals of the Gäuboden and explore the farm with the adventure farmer. The power couple Gerlinde and Heiner are 4th generation farmers, who are still putting their hands in the valuable loamy ground, the highly fertile topsoil.

The Experience
Get a first view to the unusual colored potatoes and hear more about different kind of healthy potato foods that everybody is talking about these days. Feel the prickle of ripe plants between your fingers, smell the flourishing cereal and experience the field that helps to create one of Bavaria’s most famous products. Gerlinde and Heiner will welcome you with a typical drink, walk you over to the barn and introduce you to secrets of the fertile Gäuboden soil. Afterwards it is all about the regional vegetables, the pumpkin garden, the farm work in context of all seasons. You will experience Gerlinde's passion for whole wheat by tasting her bread with sour cream, herbs and some delicious beer. On top of all the farm experience you will be creating and baking your (probably first) Bavarian pretzel in the stone oven.
